With retirement on the horizon, a client of ours wanted to build their dream home on one of the banks of PEI’s finest beaches. The property features two large bedrooms and bath suites that flank each side of the public space. This layout allows for the residents and their guests to have a comfortable private experience, while enjoying the common spaces together. The eclectic, relaxed vibe of the interior features polished concrete floors, black iron ceiling cables, and rich wood tones.

  

The south-facing property offered the perfect conditions to design a passive solar home, while still optimizing the landscape view of the water. Keeping a simple, modern, and linear form allowed for this home to blend in with the landscape by using natural materials such as cedar shakes, black metal windows, and complementary landscaping.
